On 13 April 2024, 40 packs of brown rice and healthy food items were given away to deserving families under UPF Malaysia’s Circle of Light humanitarian aid programme held recently at the Community Hall of Kampung Batu 11, Balakong in Selangor.
Representing ADUN Balakong, YB Wayne Ong was Councillor of MPKJ Zone 4, Mr Edwin Tang Wei Yong, who distributed the food packages to the families accompanied by Mdm Tan Wan, Treasurer of UPF Malaysia and Mdm Wan Yu Wang, Co-founder of Ajar-ajar Malaysia.
The event also included character education sessions themed “Spring to Life” conducted by volunteers of Ajar-Ajar Malaysia Sungai Long for the 70 participating parents and children. Besides strengthening family bonds and relationships, the programme also promoted awareness on healthy eating habits through interactive activities.
